Mehr News Parliamentary correspondent report of the Parliament session on Monday quoted Alireza Salimi representing Mahallat constituency of Markazi province talking in his ‘constitutional notification’ who said that the US Congress has approved of a lump sum allocated to what he believed was a ‘soft means of regime change’ in Iran. He also pointed to recent seizure by the US government of Iranian assets frozen in its banks under flimsy pretexts. Mr. Salimi’s third take on his speech was sanctions against the IRGC and other officials by the US. On his fourth take, he mentioned also a Visa Waiver Act which was violation of the JCPOA provisions.
“According to Article Two of the Constitution, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran should enter in retaliatory measures; we demand that more active diplomacy address these spiteful action; the government, according to Parliament code of conduct, should provide the Parliament with a final draft of the next year’s budget (fiscal year beginning March 21, 2016),” he addressed the Speaker.
In response to ‘notification,’ Larijani said that he believed that the US had been working to recover form their passive diplomacy of the recent past, and for this very reason, they had resorted to puerile measures; “some decisions are not for very recent present. They have been filing lawsuits in many courts to seize Iranian assets where even the US Supreme Court intervened,” said Larijani.
“Seizing of Iranian assets under flimsiest of pretexts is daylight thievery and the Islamic Republic of Iran is working to prepare retaliatory action and will enter action in due time,” he emphasized.
